THREE HIERARCHS YOUTH BASKETBALL
THY Wildrats Basketball
The Three Hierarchs Youth (THY) Basket Ball Program is one of the oldest youth programs within the Three Hierarchs Church.
Boys and Girls between the ages of 9-17 are encouraged to join and compete in the Metropolitan Greek Orthodox Basketball League (MGOBL) and J.O.Y.; the league is comprised of many Greek Orthodox Churches within the 5 boroughs.
The THY Wildrats Basketball Team is coached by volunteers. Their purpose is to teach the team the fundamental of basketball along with developing good character and sportsmanship in the process.
Each team meets a couple of time per week for a two-hour period to practice within the “Rat Cage.”
The storied gymnasium was built with the help and support of Troop 531 founder, Mr. John P. Kentouris. The gymnasium has been re-furbished and updated with new backboards, rims, gym floor and a state of the art scoreboard.
Games begin in November and are played on Sunday afternoon.
